Prayer – Key to Open Doors

Prayer – Key to Open Doors

We are given a powerful tool. A tool that can unlock the most significant doors in our lives. This tool is prayer. In our Women Arise Conference (Aug 1st to 3rd), Pastor Dr. Lew Lee Choo will conduct an equipping session entitled - Prayer, the key to God’s heart, followed by a prophetic prayer encounter.

Prayer is more than just a spiritual routine; it is a living communion and conversation with our Creator. It’s a key that grants us access to God’s wisdom, guidance, and power. Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8 (ESV), 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. These words remind us that prayer is our way of knocking on the door to God’s heart.

There are many doors in our lives that God wants to open for us: doors of opportunity, doors of healing, doors of restoration, and doors of peace. However, we often fail to recognise these doors because we are not in tune with what and where the Holy Spirit is pointing us. Prayer helps us align our hearts with God's heartbeat and recognise the doors He has placed before us. As Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Sometimes, doors do not open immediately. We might feel like giving up, but persistence and perseverance in prayer are crucial. In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus tells the parable of the persistent widow who kept asking for justice until she received it. Jesus concludes, " 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Persistency in prayer demonstrates our trust in God’s timing and faithfulness.

Imagine having a key that can open any door, but leaving it unused and forgotten in a drawer. How tragic would that be? Prayer is that key.

May we use this key diligently and faithfully and seek His will in all things. May God open our eyes to the doors He wants to open in our lives and give us the faith to step through them. May we always trust in His timing and purposes.

Go forth, with the key of prayer in your hand, ready to unlock the doors God has set before you.
